STATE LENS · EXPERIMENTAL

Recorded save/reload observations from an authored synthetic app. Choose a checkpoint below. This page does not run against your app.

Current download: 0.7.0-experimental.1. The recorded observations below are separate from the download version. Preserved earlier recording: broken / normal.

Synchronous Python Playwright: add one file to an existing HTTP(S) Page test · Python module (SHA256). Keep your native assertions and Trace; the helper starts no additional process or browser.

Add to your Playwright test · Broken control · Normal control · Source

Own-app report: Sethera formatting/reload on Windows. Rerunning a plain script? Use a fresh report directory; EEXIST means that output path already exists.

No test yet? The same package includes a manual checkpoint entry. Record your own app without writing a test; Node20.19+ and an installed Playwright browser are still required. Download the common package.

Large saved records: observe explicit JSON pointers, retaining the64KiB output limit and ordinary assertions. This is partial observation; earlier author reports used earlier versions.

Use it in your own app

Already use Playwright with Node20.19+? Download the one-file library (SHA256). Place it next to your test without replacing an existing copy, then import:

import { createStateLens } from './state-lens-v0.7.0-experimental.1.mjs';

Import createStateLens, select a known storage key and wrap your existing UI actions with lens.step. Keep your normal assertions. Attach the local HTML in finally.

Copy the integration and full example · Measurements and limits · Report a trial or blocker

For these recorded localStorage/IndexedDB examples, standard snapshots already contain the data. sessionStorage can be read explicitly with page.evaluate; observe a selected tab value. This helper adds selected per-step differences and screenshots in one HTML. Reports contain selected app data and stay local unless shared.

Selected values

Snapshots are observations, not database commit timestamps, causal proof or assertions that all data is correct. INCONCLUSIVE is not absent or PASS. This file includes only the selected data and captured viewport, and stays local unless you share it.
